AI Use Policy

1. Overview

Dentalverse uses artificial intelligence (AI) to power several study features on the Platform, including Teach Me, Quiz Me, AI Chat, Deep Dive Q&A, and Confusion Detector. These features are powered by advanced AI language models.

This policy explains how AI features work, how your data is processed, and the rules for responsible use.

The dose calculators are not AI features. The medication and local anesthetic dose calculators use deterministic, source-cited rules seeded from authoritative references (AHA 2021 IE prophylaxis guidelines, Malamed's Handbook of Local Anesthesia, ADA Guide to Dental Therapeutics, AAPD Reference Manual, FDA DailyMed). Every output is traceable to a published source, not generated by a language model. Calculator inputs never leave your browser session. 2. How AI Features Work

When you use an AI-powered feature on Dentalverse, your input (questions, uploaded file content, or selected study material) is sent to our AI processing infrastructure along with a structured educational system prompt designed by Dentalverse. The AI generates a response that is displayed to you.

AI responses are generated dynamically and are not pre-reviewed by a clinician or educator before being shown to you. They are intended as study aids, not authoritative references.

3. Limitations of AI

You must be aware that AI-generated content on the Platform:

• May contain errors, hallucinations, or outdated information
• May not reflect the latest clinical guidelines, drug updates, or research
• Cannot replace the judgement of a qualified dental or medical professional
• Is not a diagnostic tool and must not be applied to real patient cases
• Performs best with clear, specific educational questions — vague prompts may yield less reliable responses

Always verify AI-generated information against your textbooks, clinical supervisors, and official guidelines before relying on it in any academic or clinical context.

4. Data Processing and Privacy

When you use AI features, your prompts and uploaded file content are transmitted to our AI service providers for processing. The following applies:

• Do not include any identifiable patient information in AI prompts or uploaded files. This includes names, dates of birth, NHS numbers, or any other personal health information
• Dentalverse stores your AI conversation history in your account to allow you to review past sessions. You can delete conversations at any time
• Your prompts may be processed by our AI service providers under their respective data processing terms
• We track usage counts to enforce fair-use limits on AI features per your subscription plan

5. Acceptable Use of AI Features

You agree to use AI features only for legitimate educational purposes. The following uses are prohibited:

• Submitting patient data, clinical records, or personally identifiable health information
• Attempting to extract harmful, dangerous, or unethical clinical advice
• Using AI-generated content as the basis for treating or diagnosing real patients
• Attempting to jailbreak, manipulate, or circumvent the AI's safety guidelines
• Generating content that could mislead other students or professionals about clinical facts
• Commercial exploitation of AI-generated content from the Platform
• Automated or programmatic access to AI features (scraping, bots)

6. Usage Limits

To ensure fair access for all users, AI feature usage is subject to limits based on your subscription plan:

• Free Plan: Limited per-feature usage (e.g. 1 Teach Me use, 1 Deep Dive, 10 AI Chat messages) and limited content access
• Pro Plan: A shared budget of 100,000 AI credits per month across all AI-powered features. Credits are cost-normalized — more complex requests consume more credits. Credit usage resets at the start of each billing period
• Credit Recharge: Pro subscribers who exceed their monthly budget may purchase a one-time top-up of 50,000 credits for $5.00. Recharge credits persist across billing periods until consumed
• Credit Visibility: Individual AI responses do not display credit usage. You can view your total credit consumption, remaining balance, and per-feature breakdown in Settings → AI Usage. Credit tracking begins from the date your Pro subscription is activated

If you reach your limit, you will be notified and can either wait for your budget to reset at the start of the next billing period or purchase a credit recharge. Limits are in place to manage infrastructure costs and ensure platform stability — not to limit your learning.

7. Reporting Inaccurate AI Responses

If you encounter an AI response that is factually incorrect, clinically dangerous, or otherwise problematic, please report it to support@dentalverse.app. Include a screenshot or copy of the response and a brief description of the issue. We take accuracy seriously and use reports to improve our AI system prompts.

8. Changes to This Policy

As AI technology and regulations evolve, we will update this policy accordingly. Material changes will be notified to users by email.
